Accessing the NDIS

You will be eligible to access support from the NDIS if you have a disability that is permanent. This means a disability that affects the way you live and your functional capacity. Permanent impartments may be intellectual, cognitive, neurological, sensory, physical, or psychosocial. Prepare for the NDIS

Once you have been approved to receive NDIS support, the next step is to prepare for your NDIS planning meeting with a planner from the National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) or a Local Area Coordinator (LAC). In this meeting, you will develop your NDIS plan. This plan will include information about your goals and what supports you will receive.

Implementing your plan

Now that your NDIS plan has been approved, you are ready to begin your NDIS journey. Your NDIS plan consists of five parts, which include information about your family and friends, services and community groups, your goals, and the funded supports.
